Self-Determination Is The Highest Expression Of Democracy

Kalambayi Andenet, International President

Kalambayi Andenet is the International President of the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement. Rising from the wake of the aftermath of the Ferguson uprising, Kalambayi found herself struggling to understand the social conditions Africans face in our communities every day. Church and religion, which were the center of her background, were no longer enough to ideologically explain the very real, tangible situations and circumstances of our apparent crises.

In August of 2014 Kalambayi had the great fortune of meeting the Uhuru Movement in the form of Chairman Omali Yeshitela, who was the only identifiable force on the ground, summing up the African community’s issues with any real science and comprehensive method for overturning its contradictions, via African Internationalism.

With a grassroots perspective and passion for the people, along with coming into political life through political education, Kalambayi hit the ground running and was key in establishing what would become the St. Louis branch of InPDUM.

Kalambayi continues to work tirelessly to win the masses of Africans and poor working class to the principles of African Internationalism through real, to what end, organization.
