"What We Want, What We Believe"
Whereas, the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement was formed by the African People's Socialist Party to enable African workers to defend their national democratic rights under siege by the terrible U.S. counterinsurgency war being waged against them. When we say Africans we mean every Black person both on the continent of Africa and dispersed around the world through the process of enslavement and colonialism. The Counterinsurgency is a military term and it refers to the attack on African people who are treated as an enemy population in the U.S., Europe and other imperialist nations.
Whereas, the African working class communities in the U.S. today are faced with poverty, government imposed drugs, early death rates, terroristic police and parasitic merchants and slumlords who rip them off; at least a third of African men are tied to the prison system; the U.S. white nationalist school system teaches African children to hate themselves and the infant mortality rate is more than twice of that than white babies;
Considering, that these conditions make up the counterinsurgency, the U.S. war against African people, calculated to keep them oppressed and powerless; that this war is a continuation of the U.S. government attack against the Black Power Movement of the 1960's which the govt. crushed through assassinating its leaders and destroying its revolutionary organizations;
Considering; that African people have lived under a counterinsurgent attack by the white power capitalist system for the past 400 years in the U.S. since their kidnapping from Africa and enslavement for the benefit of white power; that the counterinsurgency is an ongoing, war against African people which is part of the continual rip off of African people benefiting the white power capitalist system and the general white population; We recognize that the counterinsurgency is a tactic of White power worldwide and it is tied to keeping African people in the chains of colonialism and neo-colonialism everywhere we exist on earth.
Considering, that the counterinsurgency has been waged against African people consistently throughout the years, having targeting the great Marcus Garvey movement 70 years ago and destroying his organization of millions of African people; This war has resulted in the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah, first President of Ghana, the assassination of Walter Rodney, Malcolm X, Queen Nzinga, dozens of courageous Militants from the Black Panther Party, Patrice Lumumba, Toussaint L'overture and hundreds of other liberation fighters
Considering, that today this war against African people takes the form of government imposed drugs in their communities and the so-called "war on drugs," "war on crime" & "war on terror" which has inflicted African communities with martial law, taking away every democratic right that was won in the 60's.
Considering, that African people have a right to struggle against this counterinsurgency and to fight for freedom, independence, happiness and political and economical control over their lives;
Therefore, based on the understanding that only through self determination and the unification of Africa can African workers have real democracy. We recognize that the struggle for the self determination and national democratic rights is one being fought by Africans all over the world as integral parts of one common struggle.. National democratic rights are those rights due to every African the world over as a member of the African nation. InPDUM calls on all friends and allies to unite with this platform of the African working class and poor peasants for freedom and self-determination.
